2024 AGM Update

2024 AGM Update

On Thursday, 8th August, We Held Our Annual General Meeting, Bringing Together Members To Reflect On The Past Year And Look Forward To The Future.

Chairperson’s Report: A Year in Review
Our Chairperson, Robyn Lang, opened the meeting with a report highlighting the key achievements and challenges faced throughout the 2023-24 year. A heartfelt thank you was extended to our outgoing directors, Belinda Rigney and Denise Forster, for their dedication and support. Their contributions have been invaluable, and they will be greatly missed on the board.

The report also provided an update on our progress toward achieving the Strategic Plan. While we’ve seen significant strides in the area of governance, the journey has not been without its hurdles. Our Chairperson acknowledged these challenges and reaffirmed our commitment to overcoming them with the support of our dedicated members.

One of the most exciting announcements was the launch of a new webinar series tailored specifically for our members. This series will cover a range of crucial topics, including:

  • Understanding Australian Employment Obligations
  • Defining Your Niche Market
  • Supporting Your Client to Implement Streamlined and Compliant HR Processes
  • Understanding Business Insurance
  • Change Management

These webinars are designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to excel in your virtual industry profession. While members can attend these webinars at no cost, non-members will be required to pay a fee.

In addition, we are in the final stages of discussions with a prominent Public Relations firm. This partnership is set to elevate the profile of virtual industry professionals, promote our services, and strengthen our advocacy efforts on behalf of all VIPs.

Get Involved: Your Participation Matters
As we continue to grow and evolve, we’re setting up working groups focused on key areas such as compliance, marketing, membership services, and education. These groups will be essential to driving our organisation forward, but their success depends on active participation from our members.

Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM and contributed to the discussions. Your ongoing support and engagement are appreciated. Here’s to another successful year ahead!
